Whether a forum helper asks you to post your system specs or you are simply curious about what components are inside your PC, Speccy is a tool that allows to you to do just that. Speccy is a third party program that can read your PC hardware IDs to determine what components are inside your PC.

Not only does Speccy provide you with hardware IDs, but it can also read and display Windows Updates, services, and processes. Speccy contains no personal information about your PC, with the exception of your PC’s username.

    1. To begin, download Speccy from the publisher’s website: Speccy – Download

    2. Once there, click the Piriform.com link under “Download from”, on the left side of the page.

    3. When asked to either run, save, or cancel, select to run the installer.

    4. Follow the on screen installer to install Speccy.

    5. Once installed, Speccy should launch automatically and display a basic view of your PC’s specifications.

    6. From here you can view your OS, CPU, RAM, Motherboard, etc.

    7. If you are posting the results on a technical support site, go to File and click Publish Snapshot… Note: If you use any other method such as ‘save as text file….’ you would be posting sensitive information, in particular, your Windows product key. Using the Publish Snapshot method will not reveal such information.

    8. When asked to save your personal snapshot, click Yes.

    9. In the second popup window, click the Copy to Clipboard button and paste the link in your next reply.

    10. Finally, please be sure to include the make and model number of your power supply!

        Hi,

I’m afraid we don’t answer questions in this section. If you have a query, please post in the relevant forum in the main forum.
        Many thanks.
