Three months after the end of Microsoft support for Windows XP, Oracle has taken a quiet approach to end all support for their for Java running on the Windows XP platform. With quarterly security updates, Oracle has stated that the upcoming July 15th updates will not be available for Windows XP. Users will be left to use Java 7u60. With Java being one of the largest security risks for personal computers, ending support for it puts Windows XP into an even deeper hole.
