Temporary File Cleaner, or TFC, is a third party Windows PC cleaning tool that is similar to CCleaner. TFC “cleans” Windows by removing useless or unnecessary Windows items/files, such as your trash bin or Temp folder. TFC is a powerful tool and should be used as directed in this guide.

TFC is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 both 32bit and 64bit.

    1. To begin, download TFC from here: http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/TFC.exe

    2. Next, ensure that your download is saved to your desktop. Do not click run.

    3. Before opening TFC, ensure that all programs are closed and exited. TFC will automatically close out any programs that are left opened, therefore, be sure to save any work.

    4. Double click the TFC.exe icon that is saved to your desktop.

    5. If asked, allow Windows to run the program.

    6. Once TFC has opened, click the Start button to begin the process.

    7. Please allow TFC to run uninterrupted as closing TFC while running may cause problems.

    8. During the cleaning process, your desktop icons, wallpaper, and other programs may disappear briefly. This is normal.

    9. Once TFC has finished, it will show a red number indicating the amount of files it has removed.

    10. If TFC does not ask for the system to perform a reboot, reboot manually.

    11. It is normal for Windows to take a longer boot time after running TFC. This will only occur once after running TFC.

    12. If you are reporting this on a tech support forum, please report the RED number shown at the end of the process.
