You may recall my most recent Logitech review, a Logitech Harmony Ultimate Home smart remote control. Ever since my review of the product, not much has changed, it still offers the same great features of controlling your entire multimedia center.

With the ability to control over 270,000 devices, Logitech has expanded this number by offering a free software update to their users, allowing them to control even more smart home products.

Compatible with the Logitech Harmony Ultimate, Smart Control and Smart Keyboard, Harmony Hub-based products can capture the full potential that is found in the recently launched Harmony Home Hub. Moreover, the new software update brings the ability to control devices such as Philips hue light bulbs, Honeywell and Next Thermostats, as well as many other wirelessly connected home products.

“At Logitech Harmony, we’re always looking for ways to improve the experience our customers have with our products,” said Bruce Lancaster, general manager and vice president of Logitech Harmony. “We’re focused on creating the best control experience for our customers bar none – not just in the living room, but throughout the home and beyond. Today’s update allows us to deliver that best-in-class experience to the largest community of connected home users in the world.”

As I mentioned in my review, these devices simplify the living room experience by pressing one button and having everything ready for your activity. If you were still debating whether or not to pick up one of these devices, you should wait no longer.

Updating the remote takes only a moment of your time. Connect the remote to any Windows or Mac PC and open the Logitech MyHarmony Software. Once logged into your Logitech account, your remote control should appear and by selecting the device, an option in your menu will update the device. When updating sit back and relax as the software automatically updates your remote and hub.
