Some of us, including myself, tend to centralize their mobile devices at the end of the day. Near the exit door, I have a counter that contains two smartphones, a Bluetooth headset, a Bluetooth Speaker, an open charger, and at times a tablet.

Besides the cumbersome space all these devices take up, the cables are even more of a hassle. With each device requiring their own USB cable for power, I find myself constantly unplugging fully charged devices to charge the remainder.

Approaching nearly a year ago, I reviewed the 4-Port RAVPower USB Charger and have been using that to decrease the cable mess in the kitchen. With RAVPower advancing their technology over the past year, I was excited to test their newest USB charger, one that support six devices in a convenient way.

Welcome to my review of the RAVPower RP-UC10 Bolt 6-Port USB Charger. Throughout this review, I will be covering the following topics: the unboxing, design, and my overall thoughts. I would like to thank RAVPower for providing me with this device.

    The Unboxing

Unboxing of the RP-UC10 is fairly straight forward with the packaging containing the unit itself, a power cable, and the user documentation.

One documentation that is included is a warranty registration card that will extend your warranty for an additional six months, providing you with an outstanding 18 month support claim. Moreover, the remaining two booklets are a Multilanguage user document and a flyer asking for your personal opinion with an Amazon or Newegg review.

New to this charger is the RAVPower exclusive iSmart technology. By automatically detecting the power needed for your device, the incorporated iSmart charger can adjust the power needed for your device, meaning you can plug a 1.0A device into a 2.1A USB port. It makes plugging in devices that much easier.

    The Design

Just like the previous BOLT charger, this model is built using a plastic shell and uses a large rectangular pad on the bottom to increase friction.

On the front, users will find the six USB ports with three of them supporting 5V1.0A maximum and the other three supporting a maximum output of 5V2.4A. Of course all of these ports support the iSmart technology I mentioned above.

Next to the USB ports is a small green status LED that is an improvement over the extremely bright blue LED from the previous generation.

Since the RP-UC10 uses a detachable power cable, users can travel the world and use either 100 volts or 240 volts of power without concern. By using the RAVPower voltage adjustment systems, you can ensure that your devices will charge without the risk of damage.

Finally, the unit is styled in a matte black finish that offers a stealth look if you are placing the unit in a back corner of the counter. For those who seek a different color scheme, RAVPower also offers the unit in white.

    My Overall Thoughts

At a cost of only $26.99, RAVPower has done an excellent job at advancing their USB Charging technology. It’s sleek matte black finish and six USB charging ports cut down on using multiple wall outlets and offers a convenient centralized charging location. Just like the rest of the RAVPower products I review, it’s hard not to recommend this model as well.
