The German car manufacturer has geared up and announced that they will be partnering with the tech giant Google. An all new Android-power in-car infotainment system is what Audi has its sights on, and new Audi cars that will come fully equipped with Android Cellphone connectivity.

Approaching the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, both Google and Audi will share more about this adventure, but for now we are limited to rumors and small reports.

Joining them on this new future car tech, Google and Audi have reportedly contacted chip manufacturer NVidia to “establish Android as an important technology for future vehicles,” as put by The Wall Street Journal.

With the Android market expanding rapidly, Audi Android systems could expand the in-car dashboard by allowing drivers to access calls, text messages, music, navigation, apps, and so much more. Plus with the customizable application of Android, your car now becomes even more personalized to you.

When approached by a Wall Street Journal news anchor both Audi and Google declined to speak about the aim of the Android car. They did however say that “cars are becoming more complex and with computing power that is going into vehicles, you need that type of system in the car.” As an Audi driver and Android user, I am very excited to see this joint operation. As Audi is a subdivision of The Volkswagen Group, Volkswagen is no stranger to this type of technology; since last year Volkswagen unveiled a Apple iOS Beetle.

As CES 2014 begins, I expect to see many new technologies from other automotive manufacturers such as Ford who has already teamed up with Rhapsody to bring an on-demand music service to more than one million vehicles. Whereas Chrysler has enhanced its dashboard offerings with access to Aha, iHeart Radio, Pandora, and Slacker Radio.
