Microsoft reported early this month that they had sold 140,000 Xbox 360s during the month of June. Being the best-selling video game console in the United States, the Xbox 360 has hit its 30th consecutive month as being number 1 in sales.

This wave of sales for Microsoft generated a retail profit of $197 million during June alone. With the uprise of the brand new 2013 Xbox One console things aren’t looking all too bad for Microsoft. Just locally around my area two major sellers, Wal-Mart and GameStop, have already sold out of their pre-ordered devices.

“The Xbox One pre-orders are trending ahead of Xbox 360 pre-orders during the same time period and have already sold out of most major U.S. retailers” as stated by Microsoft.

This may come as a shock to most people since the uproar was so great after the Microsoft Xbox Press Conference at E3. However, Microsoft did listen to their audience and made some major changes. More on that here.

Meanwhile, over at Sony they’re also receiving high pre-order sales for their next-generation console, the PlayStation 4 (PS4). Just like the Xbox One, PS4 units have sold out at places such as Best Buy and GameStop.

It’s been a long time since console gamers have received an updated platform and with most users ready to get their hands on the new technology it’s safe to say gamers will have a fun time this holiday season. __________________

    1. I understand that this website supports Microsoft in most ways but I wish the article would deliver true unbiased opinion. Having the title as Xbox stays champion indicates that it has succeeded in out-selling the PS4, at least in the pre-orders. But a simple google search would say other wise, and that the PS4 is out-selling the Xbox. In fact most articles say the PS4 has at least a double lead against the XB1…
